The Board of Control for Cricket in India, on Monday, announced the 2024-25 BCCI Central Contracts for the men’s team.

Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja were retained in the top-tier A+ category, which carries an annual retainer of ₹7 crore.

The BCCI Central Contracts are divided into four categories - Group A+ with a salary of ₹7 crore, Group A with a salary of ₹5 crore, Group B with a salary of ₹3 crore and Group C with ₹1 crore.

In a major development, Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan, both of whom were dropped from last year’s BCCI Central Contracts list, returned to the fold for the current season.

Shreyas Iyer was named in Grade B while Ishan Kishan was placed in Grade C.

Wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant was promoted to Grade A after making a comeback from injury. Indian T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav is in Group B.

Ravichandran Ashwin, who retired from international cricket in December last year, has been automatically dropped from the Central Contracts list. Shardul Thakur, Jitesh Sharma, KS Bharath and Avesh Khan were the other exclusions.

Meanwhile, spinner Varun Chakaravarthy earned himself a maiden Central Contract after his heroics at the ICC Champions Trophy earlier this year.

Nitish Kumar Reddy, Harshit Rana and Abhishek Sharma also received central contracts for the first time.

The current BCCI Central Contracts, awarded to 34 players, are applicable from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2025.
