A few days back, visuals of Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer engrossed in a deep conversation after rain delayed the start of IPL 2025 match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings went viral. On Sunday, the two chatted once again, this time after RCB completed a comfortable win over PBKS but the exchange looked anything but friendly.

With five to win, wicketkeeper-batter Jitesh Sharma launched the ball over deep midwicket boundary for a maximum to seal a seven-wicket win at PBKS’ home ground to exact revenge of the defeat RCB endured at the hands of the same opponents a couple of days in Bengaluru.

Kohli, known for his on-field aggression, often celebrates in the face of his opponents especially at the fall of a wicket.

Kohli starred with the bat for RCB as they chased down 158 in 18.5 overs for their fifth win of the season. The former RCB captain top-scored with an unbeaten 73 off 64, an innings comprising seven fours and a six.

With this, RCB maintained their perfect away record, winning five out of five fixtures on the road. However, they have tasted defeat in all three of their matches at home so far.

The Rajat Patidar-led side is now third in the IPL 2025 standings with 10 points from eight matches. As many as five teams are now level on points – 10 each – with only net run-rate separating them on the table. PBKS are fourth on the table which is being currently led by Gujarat Titans with Delhi Capitals occupying the second spot.
