Gladbach vs Bayern Munich: Live stream, game time thread, how to watch

68’ — TOR! Harry Kane makes no mistake from the spot and buries it!

65’ — ELFMETER! Bayern win a penalty after Luca Netz brings down Michael Olise in the box.

61’ — Gladbach make some subs too:

58’ — Bayern make the first substitution: Kingsley Coman replaces Thomas Muller.

56’ — The 0xG must have awoken something inside Gladbach because they’re now putting Bayern’s goal under siege.

45’ — Second half has kicked off.

Halftime observations

Gladbach’s xG of 0 goals is a testament to Bayern’s suffocation of Die Fohlen. The Bavarians were all over the pitch pressuring Gladbach and getting a handful of chances that should’ve resulted in a couple goals.

Eric Dier seems to be settling in alright in Vincent Kompany’s system, despite Gladbach’s lack of threat thus far. Doesn’t make sense to sell him when Dayot Upamecano and Kim Min-jae are being overplayed.

The less said about Leroy Sane the better.

Leon Goretzka and Thomas Muller seem to have left their finishing boots at home, they’ve had the best chances for Bayern to score tonight.

45’ — Zwayer blows for halftime.

36’ — Bayern’s players call for a handball on Gladbach but Felix Zwayer wasn’t having any of it.

23’ — Muller with a late run into the box and finds himself 1v1 with the ‘keeper but hits it straight at him.

20’ — Bayern has had a decent amount of chances to score but none of them have resulted in a goal yet.

Kickoff! — It’s whistles out and away we go!

Lineups are out! The predicted starting XI is pretty much bang on. Thomas Müller returns in lieu of the ill Jamal Musiala, while Aleksandar Pavlović starts on the bench.

Bayern subs:

Ulreich - Aznou, Guerreiro, Ibrahimović, Aséko Nkili, Pavlović, Gnabry, Coman, Tel — Bayern & Germany (@iMiaSanMia) January 11, 2025

Bayern Munich is back, and they’ll be headed to northwestern Germany to play the bogey team itself: Borussia Mönchengladbach. Getting a result away at Gladbach is easier said than done and with a couple of injuries to his men, Vincent Kompany will have a mountain to climb. Only time will tell if he’s up for the challenge.

Bayern sit in first with a record of 11-3-1 (36 points) while Gladbach is in eighth with a 7-3-5 record (24 points). Will Kompany break the “Gladbach curse” first time or will he follow in the footsteps of his predecessors?
