1
This January, Naomi Girma became the first player in women’s football to command a transfer fee of over one million euros.

Her move to Chelsea cemented her status as the most expensive player in the game - a fitting price tag for someone former Blues coach Emma Hayes calls the ‘best defender in the world.’

Eight of the top ten record-breaking transfers occured in 2024, which is an ongoing testament to the sport's growth.

Racheal Kundananji held the top spot before Girma’s switch across the pond, having transferred from Madrid CFF to Bay FC for just over €800,000.

FC Barcelona are the biggest spenders, appearing three times among the ten biggest deals: their most notable being the signing of Keira Walsh from Manchester City three years ago.

Below you can find the top ten most expensive moves in women's football today.
