MOHAMED DIOMANDE has learned his fate after Rangers appealed his controversial red card against Dundee United.

Just two days after the match, the Scottish FA have delivered their verdict.

Diomande, 23, scored an equaliser in the first half as Rangers came from behind to beat Dundee United 3-1.

But in the dying seconds of the game, the midfielder tussled with Terrors defender Kevin Holt.

With a foul already awarded for a foul just a few yards away, the ball trickled to Diomande who continued to move forward.

Holt then pushed the Rangers man twice, with Diomande turning around and appearing to swing his hand in the defender's direction.

There was minimal contact, but referee Nick Walsh saw enough to brandish a red card in the Light Blues player's direction.

VAR Don Robertson appeared to see things differently and brought Walsh over to the pitchside monitor to have a second look at the incident.

However, the referee decided to stick with his on-field decision and Diomande was dispatched to the dressing rooms.

Protesting his own innocence, Diomande appeared to suggest he'd been knocked off balance by Holt, ultimately causing his him to move the way he did.

Rangers boss Philippe Clement was irate with the decision and revealed the club would be appealing the red card immediately after the match.

Now, the Gers have discovered the result of that appeal.

And SunSport can reveal that Diomande has WON his appeal on wrongful dismissal.

The SFA website read: "Claim Upheld. Original sanction of a red card for A2 – Violent Conduct is rescinded with immediate effect."

It means Diomande WILL be available for Rangers' next league match, a home game against Ross County this coming Sunday.

The Gers' next match in all competitions is their final Europa League match against Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise at Ibrox on Thursday.

Diomande is likely to start having missed last week's match against Manchester United due to suspension.
