LARAMIE, Wyo. (March 31, 2026) – The Wyoming Cowboys entered the second week of spring drills on Tuesday on Jonah Field Inside War Memorial Stadium. It marked the second practice in full pads and the fourth of the spring, as UW will prepare for the annual Spring Game on April 25.

What Head Coach Sawvel Said

" It was a good start to the week with a lot of good things on both sides of the ball. We had a number of players out there with the intent to improve. We will watch the film and move on to the next practice."

The Cowboys return a good corps at linebacker led by Ethan Stuhlsatz and Gary Rutherford. Stuhlsatz recorded 41 tackles last season along with 1.5 tackles for loss, as he saw time in all 12 games. Rutherford added 15 tackles in 12 games a season ago, as both saw significant time behind All-MW picks Brayden Johnson and Evan Eller.

Sophomore Dash Bauman along redshirts Parker Moore and Steven Perez saw time in their first seasons with most of the action being on special teams.

Wyoming brought in a talented group of linebackers this spring with Anthony Beavers being a veteran, who comes to UW after playing for USC appearing in 37 career games with six starts. Karson Butts was a talented Junior College transfer and Mason Wright is an early enrollee for the Brown and Gold.
