MILLERSVILLE, Pa. -- Tuesday's PSAC opener for the Kutztown University men's tennis team got off to a brilliant start with a doubles sweep, but Millersville gained the upper hand in singles, rallying to a 4-3 victory over the Golden Bears at the McComsey Courts.

Emmitt Robinson (Ingersoll, Ontario/Ingersoll District Collegiate Institute) and Patrick Young (Belfast, Northern Ireland/) secured their team-leading eighth doubles win this season, 6-0, over Daniel Ducheyne and Arrav Bharti at No. 3 to put the visitors up early.

Joaquin Perez (Pachuca, Mexico/Escuela Americana) and Terrell Arejola (Quezon City, Philippines/Southville International School and Colleges) doubled up Paul Bagnouls and Adrian Weisser, 6-3, at No. 2 to earn the team point for Kutztown before Dang Nguyen (Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam/) and Henrique Rocha (Jaticua, Brazil/Escola SEB Maceio) finished off the doubles sweep in a tiebreaker at No. 1.

Kutztown (5-7, 0-1 PSAC) got victories in singles from No. 1 Nguyen and No. 4 Young but the one additional point it needed remained elusive.

Rocha came closest to earning the winning point, but came up just short against the Marauders' (2-7, 1-3 PSAC) Axel Duclos 6-3, 7-5 at No. 2.

KU will take a week to regroup and get ready for a rescheduled road match with Jefferson on Wednesday, April 8, at 2 p.m. Jefferson joined the PSAC as an associate member in men's tennis this season.
