Neeraj Chopra's wife Himani Mor declines ₹1.5 crore job offer to pursue career in sports business

Himani Mor, wife of two-time Olympic medallist Neeraj Chopra, has officially stepped away from professional tennis to focus on building a career in the sports business sector. A former international tennis player, Himani reached a career-high ranking of 42 in singles and 27 in doubles, both achieved in 2018 — the year she made her professional debut.Himani Chopra, has reportedly turned down a lucrative ₹1.5 crore job offer from a sports-related organisation in the United States. Her father, Chand Mor told a news portal stating that the decision was made as she wants to start her own venture in the sports industry. "She also turned down a ₹1.5 crore sports-related job offer in the USA and instead will focus on her own business now,” her father was quoted as saying.Currently, Himani is in Europe alongside her husband, who is undergoing training ahead of the World Athletics Championships.Himani holds a degree in Political Science from Delhi University and has completed a course in sports and fitness management from Franklin Pierce University in the United States.The couple married in January this year in a private ceremony held at a resort in Solan, Himachal Pradesh. The wedding was kept low-key, with the announcement made via social media. Since then, the newlyweds have been travelling abroad due to Neeraj's rigorous training and competition schedule. As a result, the family is still awaiting the opportunity to host a formal wedding reception.Himani’s early interest in tennis began during her school days, when she was in the fourth standard. Initially, her family encouraged her to pursue sports like boxing, wrestling, and kabaddi. However, it was her mother, a physical training instructor, who helped her nurture her interest in tennis. Himani went on to represent Delhi University at national-level tournaments and also competed in the World University Games in 2017.
