World No. 1 and four-time Grand Slam champion Jannik Sinner of Italy will reignite his rivalry with Olympic silver medallist Carlos Alcaraz of Spain in the men’s singles final of the US Open 2025 tennis in New York on Sunday.

The Sinner vs Alcaraz US Open 2025 final at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Centre will be available to watch on live streaming and live telecast in India. The tennis match is scheduled to start at 11:30 PM IST (Indian Standard Time).

Sinner, 24, also faced the 22-year-old Alcaraz in the final of Wimbledon in July this year. The Italian triumphed in four sets to deny the Spaniard a third consecutive Grand Slam title on grass.

The world No. 1 rank - which Sinner has held for 65 consecutive weeks - will also be on the line. Alcaraz will leapfrog Sinner to reclaim the top rank for the first time since September 2023 if he wins the final on Sunday.

Alcaraz holds the edge in the rivalry with Sinner. The Spaniard leads 9-5 in the head-to-head and has won their past three meetings on hard courts.

This will be the third consecutive Grand Slam final between the pair in 2025, with Alcaraz winning the French Open in five sets and Sinner taking the Wimbledon title. It will be the first time in the Open Era that two players have contested three major finals in the same season.

Sinner, who also lifted the Australian Open title earlier this year, made the US Open final after a 6-1, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 win over Felix Auger-Aliassime in the semi-finals - his 300th career victory.

The Italian tennis player, who is on a 27-match winning streak on hard courts at the Grand Slam level, is the fourth man in the Open Era to reach finals of all four Grand Slams in a season. Sinner is 26-1 in Grand Slams this year.

Carlos Alcaraz, a five-time major winner, progressed to the final with a strong showing in his semi-final, defeating the Olympic champion Novak Djokovic 6-4, 7(7)-6(4), 6-2.

The Spaniard is bidding for a second US Open crown after winning it in 2022. His last loss to Sinner came in the Wimbledon 2025 final.

If Sinner wins on Sunday, he will be the first men’s singles player to defend the US Open title since Roger Federer won five consecutive titles from 2004 to 2008.

This year’s final also guarantees that for the eighth straight Grand Slam, the men’s singles champion will be either Sinner or Alcaraz.
