Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori upended their mid-season dip in style at the Bitpanda Hamburg Open, where they surged to the title.

The third-seeded duo delivered a clinical championship-match display to defeat Andres Molteni/Fernando Romboli 6-4, 6-0 and claim its sixth trophy as a pair. Bolelli and Vavassori, who were winless in their opening three matches of the clay swing, dropped just three of 26 points behind their first delivery and saved both break points they faced, according to Infosys ATP Stats.

“We are very happy, we haven't come from a very happy period [but] we've found our tennis again,“ said Bolelli. “We played a great tournament, I think we improved match after match, today was the icing on the cake. We really played high-level tennis, I'm very happy for the victory and also looking towards Paris.”

Bolelli and Vavassori opened 2025 with a 13-1 record, winning hard-court titles in Adelaide and Rotterdam either side of reaching their second consecutive Australian Open final. Yet they notched just one win in seven tour-level events before arriving in Hamburg, where they turned their form around with an impressive week.

Now up one spot to fourth in the PIF ATP Live Doubles Teams Rankings, Bolelli and Vavassori will head to Roland Garros, where they reached the final last year.

Doumbia/Reboul save 3 CPs for Geneva title

Sadio Doumbia and Fabien Reboul rallied from the brink of defeat to claim their first trophy of the season at the ATP 250 in Geneva.

The Frenchmen saved three consecutive championship points from 6/9 in the Match Tie-break to overcome Ariel Behar and Joran Vliegen 6-7(4), 6-4, 11-9. Doumbia and Reboul last week missed a championship point of their own at the ATP Masters 1000 in Rome before falling to Marcelo Arevalo and Mate Pavic.

“We are very happy, it was a crazy match,” said Reboul after their maiden Lexus ATP Head2Head clash with Behar/Vliegen. “We lost with a match point in the Rome final, so it was hard here. We saved [three] match points… It’s always emotional when you get to the super tie-break.”

Doumbia and Reboul are seventh in the PIF ATP Live Doubles Teams Rankings, aiming to make their debut at the Nitto ATP Finals.
