From butter yellow to bird accessories, there were some looks turning more heads than the games themselves – check out the stars who have been taking in the tennis in London

It’s game, set, match on celebrity spotting at Wimbledon – the Grand Slam tennis tournament is reaching its climax, with the finals taking place this weekend.

While there is, of course, plenty of attention on the tennis, we’re always drawn in by what’s happening courtside too.

Who is there, who are they with, what are they wearing and, crucially…do they look happy to have gotten a seat?

Considering thousands queue up each day in the hopes of securing a spot in the audience, it’s fair to assume the celeb crowd should at least appear grateful for their invite.

We had Irish representation in South West London thanks to player James Fernandez McCabe, the son of an Irish man, who made his debut this year but was beaten in straight sets. There were plenty more flying the flag from the stands – namely Amy Huberman and Brian O’Driscoll, who were spotted on day six, with Huberman sporting a gorgeous gúna by Irish fashion brand FéRí.

Writer and actor Sharon Horgan was also in attendance, alongside brother and former rugby star Shane Horgan, the pair looking exactly as engaged in the action as you’d hope.

Looking slightly less enthused, however, was Aine May Kennedy, the Irish girlfriend of footballer Conor Gallagher.

Laura Whitmore made an appearance on day one of the tournament, and was spotted again on the eighth day.

She embraced what is arguably the colour of the season – butter yellow – with her suit on the former, and turned blue for the latter.

Her bird cage bag deserves a special shoutout.

And while Whitmore’s bag bird was in a cage, Angela Scanlon’s was in a basket instead, paired with a pink striped jumpsuit.

Fresh off the stage from her show at London’s Hyde Park, all-American singer Olivia Rodrigo took in some tennis alongside her British actor boyfriend, Louis Partridge.

She kept up her usual preppy style with a red button-up gingham dress. It was vintage Ralph Lauren, mind you.

Emily in Paris she may be, but Lily [Collins] in Wimbledon wowed with a summery striped dress and mesh pumps as she took in some tennis with husband, Charlie McDowell.

Her dress, by designer Stella Jean, featured two birds of paradise. What is in the air with all these fashionable birds?

As with the Met Gala each year, for every five dolled-up women in attendance, there is a man in just a suit. A nice suit, sure, but usually unremarkable.

For the Wimbledon occasion, the men tend to favour creams and light colours.

David Beckham was spotted front and centre in exactly that, paired with some aviator sunglasses.

Hit Man actor Glen Powell brought some more American star power to the line up, also sporting some tennis whites.

Turning men-in-the-crowd fashion on its head, in a shock move, was singer Nick Jonas, who wore… a suit. But a dark one!

In the US version of The Office, Dwight Schrute was a well-prepared character, who would no doubt have made sure to protect his head from the summer sun.

So it makes sense that the actor who played him, Rainn Wilson, and his wife, writer Holiday Reinhorn, took scalp coverage courtside.

Wilson’s hat, in particular, will double up perfectly for an Oasis concert.

Wimbledon continues until July 13.
