Iga Świątek has well and truly found her confidence on grass.

The Paris 2024 tennis bronze medallist is through to the Wimbledon women’s singles final for the first time, where she will aim for the sixth Grand Slam title of her career.

Świątek beat unseeded Swiss player Belinda Bencic in straight sets, 6-2, 6-0, in the 2025 semi-finals on Thursday (10 July), completing a dominant victory in one hour and 11 minutes on Centre Court.

"Honestly, I never even dreamt that it was going to be possible for me to play in the final,” Świątek said post-match to the Centre Court crowd, “so I’m just super excited and just proud of myself.

“Tennis keeps surprising me, I thought I lived through everything, even though I’m young. I thought I'd experienced everything on the court. I didn’t experience playing well on grass, so that’s the first time, and I’m super excited and enjoying it."

Świątek will take on another first-time Wimbledon finalist, USA’s Amanda Anisimova, after the 13th seed produced a seismic performance to overcome world no. 1 Aryna Sabalenka.
