Sacramento State and UC San Diego have a lengthy history, first competing in 2006. Across their seven matchups, the Tritons are 3-4. Their latest win came this year, in January, where the Tritons bested the Hornets 4-3. Against conference foe UC Davis, the overall record is 2-7, 0-5 in conference. The Tritons last matchup against the Aggies occurred on March 3, 2025, resulting in a 2-4 loss for UC San Diego.2026 BIG WEST CHAMPIONSHIPThis year's Big West Championship will be April 22-25 at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego. UC San Diego is Division I postseason eligible for the second season. In 2025, the Tritons earned the four seed and defeated Cal Poly in the quarterfinals. They then fell to top-seeded and nationally-ranked UC Santa Barbara in the semifinals.ROSTER BREAKDOWNThe roster of 10 features seven newcomers and three returners. There are three grad students, one senior, two sophomores and four freshmen. Senior Zach Pellouchoud and sophomores David Adamson and Robert Freedman are the three returners.MEET THE NEWCOMERSThis year's decorated freshmen class features five-stars Abhinav and Prathinav Chunduru, plus four-stars Andrew Beceiro and Trevor Nguyen.The Tritons also have three grad transfers.
