Amanda Anisimova is the last American woman standing at Wimbledon in 2025, and she has the biggest match of her career ahead of her. Before this year, Anisimova’s best showing ever at Wimbledon was making the quarterfinals in 2022. And now she’ll play world no. 1 Aryna Sabalenka in the semifinals at the All England Club.

The 23-year-old New Jersey native was ebullient after her quarterfinal win over Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, collapsing in joy on the court. And she headed straight for her player’s box to pick up her nephew to celebrate. Tennis has long played a huge role in her family’s life . Learn more about who else might be in Anisimova’s player’s box:

1. Her coach, Hendrik Vleeshouwers

Vleeshouwers has been coaching Anisimova since 2023 when she returned to the sport after taking a break from the sport following her father’s death. Vleeshouwers has previously coached Belgium’s Elise Mertens and Yanina Wickmayer.

2. Her physiotherapist, Shadi Soleymani

Trained as a chiropractor, with a focus on biomechanics, Soleymani started working with Anisimova this year, on everything from her flexibility to her diet to her sleep. “I’m on her like a mom,” Soleymani told The Athletic .

3. Her performance coach, Rob Brandsma

Anisimova has been working with Brandsma for several years based on an interview she gave in Canada in 2021 . Brandsma praised Anisimova on Instagram in February after she won the WTA 1000 Qatar TotalEnergies Open trophy. “What a huge steps forward we have made looking back where we have started 9 months ago,” the caption reads. “Proud! Lets go.”

4. Her mom, Olga

Amanda’s parents Olga and Konstantin emigrated from Russia to the United States in 1998; their older daughter, Maria, was 10 years old at the time. Back in Moscow, Olga was an “accountant in the banking system,” Konstantin told the New York Times in 2017.

“My wife had relatives who had lived a long time in the United States,” he told the NYT. “They sent us an invitation to come visit this country. We visited it, and we liked it more and more, and we start thinking and taking it seriously.”

5. Her sister, Maria Egee

Amanda’s older sister also played college tennis while attending the University of Pennsylvania. She later went into the other family business, finance, and was eventually named on the Forbes “30 Under 30” list for the finance industry in 2018 . Her bio on the list that year read, “Leading Bank of America's effort to build out a credit default swaps trading business, focusing at first on investment grade credit. Previously was a vice president at Goldman Sachs.” She’s now a senior vice president at Loop Capital .

The two sisters are very close. In an interview with the New York Times in 2020, Egee shared how she tried to encourage her parents to approach things differently with Amanda than they had with her. “Especially in high school, I wanted to have a social life and didn’t have time for everything, so I often felt burned out and wanted to quit tennis,” Egee told the NYT.

6. Her nephew, Jaxon

Anisimova held her nephew and Egee’s son, Jaxon, in her arms as she walked across the court on Tuesday for her post-match interview. “He flew in this morning, and it’s his birthday on Thursday,” Anisimova said of Jaxon . She noted he is turning four this year, and that this was the first tennis match he had ever seen, at least in person. “I’m just super grateful that they flew in and got to experience this with me. It doesn’t happen often. It’s super special.”
