Andy Robertson says he is “relaxed” about his Liverpool future as he gets set to enter the final six months of his contract, but knows it will soon ‘take over’ his life.Robertson is one of two Liverpool players in the final year of their contract, with Ibrahima Konate also yet to commit his future, though reports in France claim a new offer is on the table. For Liverpool’s vice-captain, who considered a move to Atletico Madrid in the summer, contract talks with the club are not advanced, though he says he is “relaxed” about the situation.Speaking to reporters after the defeat at Man City, Robertson said of his future: “The relationship between me and the club has been a wonderful one. They’ve done everything for me, in terms of me and my family.“I think I’ve not been too bad for them in terms of signing from Hull for £8 million and what I’ve done!“Whatever happens will happen behind closed doors, I’m relaxed about the whole situation.“If it is my last year, then it’s my last year. If it’s not, then so be it.“I had a bit of a stressful summer in terms of decisions. I’ve said to myself, ‘just try and enjoy the next few months’ and then, obviously it will start probably taking over my life.“That’s what happens when you go into your last six months.”The 31-year-old has assumed a more prominent role in the last few games, starting four in a row after just three starts prior to that, and that will bode well in any future talks. He added, “I’m just trying to focus on football. I am delighted to be back on the pitch and playing the last few games.“Let’s see what happens, but I’m relaxed about the whole thing.”Robertson has demonstrated his value to Arne Slot in recent matches, providing the experience that Milos Kerkez, understandably, currently lacks at the age of just 22, and the club could do worse than retain him. There is no guarantee Liverpool will offer new terms for Robertson, though, or if they even meet his demands, but it is evident the 31-year-old is content to let it play out.
