The British, Finnish team came into the final high on confidence after their second win in two weeks over last year’s No.1 ranked duo, Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool.

Awaiting them in the final were 2024 Roland Garros champions Arevalo and Pavic, who they held a 2-2 head-to-head record against.

A tight opening set in the final saw just one break point in the first 11 games, but Patten and Heliovaara struck when the opportunity came their way with the first set point of the match against their opponents’ serve.

The two-time Grand Slam champions threatened to run away with the match after taking a 3-1 lead in the second set but were immediately pulled back.

Both sides looked to be heading for a tie-break but once again Arevalo and Pavic failed to hold their nerve, serving to stay in it at 6-5.

Patten and Heliovaara set up three match points at 0-40, before wrapping up another impressive title run in an hour and 27 minutes.

They will now go into Indian Wells and Miami as the team to beat, with the duo searching for their first piece of silverware across the sunshine swing.
