NEW DELHI: The feeling of winning the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 still hasn’t sunk in. India defeated New Zealand by four wickets in the final to clinch their second ICC Champions Trophy title under Rohit Sharma ’s captaincy, having previously won the tournament in 2013 under MS Dhoni.The celebrations were electric after India sealed the win.On Friday, Independence Day, star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant shared a video on social media capturing the jubilant scenes — from dressing-room banter to a light-hearted exchange with skipper Rohit that caught fans’ attention.In the clip, Pant went around recording reactions from Ravindra Jadeja, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli , Shreyas Iyer, Arshdeep Singh, Kuldeep Yadav, and Axar Patel. When he finally reached Rohit, Pant asked, “Bhaiya, ye stump leke kahaan jaa rahe ho?”Rohit, who had announced his retirement from T20Is after leading India to the 2024 T20 World Cup title, replied with a grin: “Kya? Retirement le lu? Har baar jeetenge to har baar thodi retirement leta rahunga?”To this, Pant laughed and said, “Hum to chahte hain khelo.”The 2025 Champions Trophy was Rohit’s second ICC title as captain, following the T20 World Cup triumph in 2024.Rohit and Virat Kohli will next be seen in action during the ODI series against Australia in October, with both stalwarts already preparing for their ODI comebacks.
