How the LA28 ticketing system works: FAQ

1
It's almost time.

The first wave of tickets for the Olympic Games LA28 go on sale in April – and the process to get them is already underway. Here's how it works.

Registration, draw, time slot, drop

LA28 built a four-step ticketing system. First, fans register and create a profile at tickets.la28.org – no purchase or payment required. That registration enters them into a random draw. Selected registrants are then assigned a time slot – a specific window during which they can access the platform and purchase available sessions. When those sessions go live, that's a "drop."

The registration period for the first draw ran from 14 January to 18 March. Fans who registered but were not selected for a time slot will automatically be entered into all future draws without needing to re-register.

When do tickets go on sale?

There are two windows for this first round.

Fans in qualifying Southern California and Oklahoma counties – Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura, Oklahoma, Canadian and Cleveland – get early access through the LA & OKC Locals Presale from 2–6 April. The general Drop 1 follows from 9–19 April.

Selected registrants will be notified of their time slot via email between 31 March and 7 April.

Worth noting: registration does not guarantee a time slot. Not everyone who signs up will be selected for a given drop, but they will be automatically entered in to the draw for the next drop.

How many tickets can I buy, and how much do they cost?

Up to 12 tickets per person across Olympic competitions and ceremonies, though the maximum may vary for certain sports. Fans can also purchase up to 12 tickets for Football (Soccer) matches – those do not count toward the general 12-ticket maximum. No more than four tickets can be purchased for each Ceremony.

Purchasers must be 18 or older. Every person attending a ticketed session needs their own ticket – including children of all ages, without exception.

Tickets start at $28 and go into the thousands.

In recognition of Visa's long-standing partnership with the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Visa is the Official Way to Pay.

Can international fans buy tickets?

Yes, but a ticket does not guarantee a U.S. visa – the State Department website has details on international travel requirements.

What about accessible seating?

Accessible seating options, including seats for accompanying persons, are available directly through the ticketing platform during your assigned time slot. Fans can find accessible seating options under "ticket types" within each seating category option. No supporting documents are required at time of purchase.

What if I missed the first registration deadline?

Additional ticket draws will follow in the lead-up to the Games.
