Everton supporters deliver unanimous David Moyes verdict as squad sent 'no nonsense' message

Everton supporters have been reacting online following the news that David Moyes is the club’s new manager. The Scot was confirmed as Sean Dyche’s replacement on Saturday morning.

Moyes has penned a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Blues, and his first match in charge will be against Aston Villa on Wednesday night. The 61-year-old had previously spent 11 years in charge of Everton from 2002 to 2013.

Moyes’ immediate task will be to steer Everton away from the relegation zone. The Blues are just one point above the drop zone and have only managed to claim three wins in the Premier League so far this season. And below is a look at how Liverpool ECHO readers have reacted to the news.

Commenter SteGriff1967 said: “I know some fans aren't happy with Moyes but I'm delighted. He never had a penny at Everton previously, and got us into Europe most years. He has signed players for buttons, then sold them for massive profits, ultimately keeping Everton afloat. He got West Ham into Europe every year and won a European trophy. I don't understand anyone not wanting that?”
