Emma Raducanu is turning a new page in 2025.Having struggled with injuries since her triumphant US Open victory in 2021, the British tennis star wants to get back to her best level this season.A key element of that comes through adjusting her training regime, and what better way to do that than by recruiting a renowned fitness coach? Her new Japanese trainer, Yutaka Nakamura, has previously worked with Grand Slam champions Naomi Osaka and Maria Sharapova, and while their partnership is already underway, Raducanu recognises the journey that lies ahead.“I think building a body, that's a continuous process,” she said ahead of the Australian Open 2025. “I think it's not something that you necessarily put a timeline on."Like, ‘Okay, in a year I'm going to be a top athlete.’ Even when you're a top athlete, there's always things you can do better. But I think I do already feel a difference when I step on the court. As for how long it's going to take, I'm not sure. I trust his work and trust his judgment.”
