The Los Angeles Chargers and left tackle Rashawn Slater reached agreement on a four-year, $114 million contract extension that includes a record $92 million guaranteed that makes him the highest-paid offensive lineman in NFL history, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Sunday.

The Chargers' front office and CAA Football have been working on this deal for weeks. Slater was entering the last year of his contract and now is contractually tied to the team for the next five seasons, through 2029.

Selected 13th overall in 2021, Slater has been selected to two Pro Bowls in four seasons.
