Indian players are unhappy with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) because of the new family rule, which allows the wives, kids, and other members to stay with the cricketers for 14 days during a 45-day tour. Even the dates of the visit of the family members are not in the players’ hands anymore, with the captain, head coach, and manager being the final authorities.Rohit Sharma was not aware that the mic was on when he came for the press conference with chief selector Ajit Agarkar. He was heard saying that the issue of the new family rule would be discussed with the BCCI secretary as he was getting calls from the players.Jos Buttler, who is England’s white-ball captain and is currently in India for the five T20Is and three ODIs, has supported the Indian players. He feels families don’t disturb or impact the performances of the players and their presence is good.“It’s great to be able to have families on the tour with you. I don’t think it affects cricket too much,” he told PTI.The first T20I will be played on January 22 at Eden Gardens. Meanwhile, the Indian Cricket Board has issued 10-point SOPs after a series of defeats in Australia. The top brass is miffed with the team’s display and to discipline the players, a set of new guidelines has come into play.
