We're alive! Wednesday night's triumph over fierce rivals Tottenham returned that feel-good feeling back to the Emirates, with Mikel Arteta's side finally capitalising on a Liverpool slip-up to close the gap on the Premier League leaders to four points. The Reds remain the firm favourites, but the race certainly isn't over yet. The Gunners were keen on signing the Slovenian international before Euro 2024 last summer, but he opted to extend his contract in Saxony.Arsenal, though, haven't been deterred and perhaps Arteta has done some sweet talking. Sam notes that the Spaniard has spoken to the striker 'on more than one occasion'. However, there's some negotiating to do between the two clubs in regards to the structure of any potential deal. While the title hopefuls want to sign Sesko on an initial loan with a buy option, Leipzig would prefer money upfront or at least an obligation in any loan deal. The reputable David Ornstein recently said it was 'unlikely' that Sesko would move in the January window, while The Athletic's James McNicholas (via afcstuff) adds that the 21-year-old is more likely to leave in the summer, but could be convinced by the right proposition this month. It's hard to envisage Sesko not being tempted by a move to north London, especially with Mikel whispering sweet nothings over the phone. The Leipzig striker is regarded as one of Europe's most fearsome young forwards with sky-high potential. 6'5 and blessed with a turbocharged engine, Sesko is a freak athlete boasting a skill set unlike any other striker on the market. He remains raw, but the ingredients are there for superstardom. He's capable of this sort of thing...Yo @Arsenal, heard you need someone who can score some goals?Sesko is right here. Go sign him. pic.twitter.com/5vbIRRu08y — Westie (@MrProWestie) January 12, 2025Given his youth and relative inexperience at the highest level, we have to expect some acclimatisation issues to begin. However, Sesko has be the optimal long-term striker option for Arsenal not called Alexander Isak. Snagging him from Leipzig this month would be a huge coup.READ THE LATEST ARSENAL NEWS HERE!
