Carrick can now reap the rewards of Amad’s development

Carrick was appointed interim United manager this week, as he takes charge initially until the end of this season.

The signing of Amad in 2020, before his arrival in January 2021, was definitely a panic purchase from the club after missing out on Jadon Sancho, who was Solskjaer’s dream target.

However, in a turn-up for the books, Amad has ended up being drastically better than the current Aston Villa loanee, who sees his contract expire at the end of this season, and Carrick will see the winger as a key player.

Amad cemented himself as a top United player last season when he scored a hat-trick for the Red Devils and has been brilliant ever since, currently having two goals and two assists as a wing-back this season, but his new role will be winger.

Carrick will be able to reap the rewards of United signing Amad while he was assistant, and could potentially even get the best out of him in a system more suited to attacking football, with multiple roles suiting him.
