Kansas Tennis Opens Season by Hosting the Jayhawk Invitational

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas tennis opens its 2026 slate this week by hosting the Jayhawk Invitational at the Jayhawk Tennis Center beginning on Thursday, January 15. The three-day tournament runs through the weekend and will feature Kansas, Memphis, Kansas State and Iowa State. Admission to the Jayhawk Tennis Center is free.

Action begins on Thursday at 10 a.m. CT and will continue through Saturday, with each team competing in singles and doubles.

The Jayhawk Invitational is Kansas' first competition of 2026, as Kansas rolls into match play where Kansas will play 13 home duals and nine away duals.

The Jayhawks finished the fall season in November, competing in numerous tournaments throughout the fall semester. The Jayhawks were picked eighth in the Big 12 Conference entering the spring season and feature a mix of returning and new talent.

Kansas is led by head coach Todd Chapman, who enters his 13th season as the Jayhawks' head coach. Kansas will open Big 12 Conference play on February 27 as Kansas will host Texas Tech at the Jayhawk Tennis Center.
