NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – Texas A&M defensive end Cashius Howell has been named one of eight semifinalists for the 22nd annual Lott IMPACT Trophy, according to an announcement by the Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation.

This is the second consecutive season in which the Aggies had a semifinalist for this award, which is presented annually to the student-athlete who best exhibits the characteristics of Ronnie Lott by making an IMPACT on and off the field. IMPACT is an acronym for Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community and Tenacity.

Howell has been a dominant force for the Aggies this season, ranking tied for third nationally and first in the SEC with 10.5 sacks (1.2 per game) as well as tied for 14th and third, respectively, with 11.5 tackles for loss. The Kansas City, Mo., native has added 21 tackles, three pass breakups and five quarterback pressures, while recording at least one sack in five-of-eight games. According to Pro Football Focus, Howell has generated 34 quarterback pressures in 2025.

The redshirt senior was recently named SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week, his fourth SEC weekly honor this season, after producing one strip-sack, one quarterback hurry and a season-best five tackles in Texas A&M's 38-17 win at then-No. 19 Missouri.

Finalists for the award will be announced Thursday, November 20, while the winner will be announced at the annual award ceremony on December 7 at The Pacific Club in Newport Beach, Calif.
