Nottingham Forest star Neco Williams has warned Liverpool his side have their sights set on beating them next week.Forest have enjoyed a remarkable season under Nuno Espirito Santo in his first full campaign in charge. They currently sit third in the Premier League, having won 12 and lost only four games so far.The East Midlands side are only six points behind leaders Liverpool and host the Reds next Tuesday. They are the only side to beat Arne Slot's men this season, having claimed a 1-0 win at Anfield in September.Next week's clash offers Forest the chance to firmly put themselves in the title race. And Williams, who came through the ranks at Liverpool before moving to the City Ground in 2022, has insisted his side are ready to beat the Reds again. He told BBC Radio Nottingham: “We are still only halfway through the season, we have still got a lot more to give. We are just taking each game as it comes. For us now the focus is on Luton in the FA Cup."Then it is Liverpool, which will be a tough test, but the confidence is flowing through the group now and hopefully we can carry on that winning form. It will be special for the whole team, we are up there, we are the only team to beat them this season so hopefully we can do that again.“But it’s going to be tough, we know how good they are, they are probably one of the best teams in the world right now, but with our confidence, our winning form, our 12th man, which is the fans, if that all comes together than we will have a chance.”HAVE YOUR SAY! Liverpool meanwhile slipped up against Manchester United, as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Ruben Amorim's struggling side.Ahead of next week's huge game, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has conceded Forest will be in the title race if they beat the Reds. But he insisted it would be a good thing for the Premier League."If they beat Liverpool next then they are in the title race. They are the only team to beat Liverpool. What I would say is right now, you're talking about the title race, which is understandable," he told Sky Sports."But if Champions League goes to the top five positions then they've got a hell of a chance. It's just what the other teams do. I think as a Premier League we need Nottingham Forest to make the top five."What it does and it's the same as Aston Villa. A couple of years ago they'd only been back in the Premier League a couple of seasons. Forest are the same. It gives hope to so many clubs who are struggling."Join our new WhatsApp community and receive your daily dose of Mirror Football content.
