(Photo by Tom Flathers/Manchester City FC)Manchester United are interested in signing Tyrese Noubissie, who is expected to depart Manchester City.Noubissie arrived at the Etihad in 2023, for a reported £1million fee, and is a midfield prospect who has also attracted attention from the continent with RB Leipzig and Strasbourg credited with an interest.United are in talks with the 17-year-old who could be lured to Carrington by the promise of a clear pathway to the first-team.Should Noubissie move across Manchester it would be the latest in a series of academy switches between the rival clubs in recent seasons. Both sides are enjoying a fine period at academy level with City reaching the Youth Cup final this season, losing to Aston Villa who had beaten United in the last four. City won the trophy in 2024. City won Premier League 2 and the Under-18 Premier League with United second in the latter having beaten the Blues to the title a year earlier.United swooped for Jack and Tyler Fletcher from City in 2023. The twins, sons of former United midfielder Darren Fletcher, had been in the City academy for nine years but opted to move to United and a £1.25million fee was paid to sign the pair. Both are highly regarded and sources at United believe they have first-team potential, which saw them handed their first professional contracts in April 2024.The Fletcher twins, Darren's only children, started their careers at City but are now regulars in the United academy.Meanwhile, City swooped to sign Harrison Parker from United for a fee of around £700,000, a switch that United felt was a "revenge move" for signing the Fletcher brothers.Parker is a regular in the Under-18 side at the Etihad and joined United from the Arsenal academy in 2021.Deals between the two academies could become more commonplace due to the restrictions imposed by Brexit on signing teenagers aged under 18 from abroad.Kevin de Bruyne - special edition ON SALE NOW Kevin de Bruyne is one of - if not the - greatest players to play for Manchester City.
