Isak hopes dashed

Alexander Isak is out of Arsenal's price range, with the Gunners now forced to turn to other targets. Isak, 25, is enjoying a spell of red-hot form, opening the scoring for Newcastle in their midweek triumph at the Emirates.

The Swedish striker has scored 10 goals in his last nine games and if anyone came calling for his services, the Mail report that Newcastle would demand a British-record transfer worth more than the £115million Chelsea paid Brighton to sign Moises Caicedo in 2023. Arsenal simply can't afford to pay that fee as things stand.

Jorginho considering Brazil return

Arsenal midfielder Jorginho is considering leaving the club this month ahead of his contract expiring in the summer. The 33-year-old's agent has offered him to Brazilian giants Palmeiras, report ESPN.

Palmeiras, along with rivals Flamengo, are one of just two teams which Jorginho would reportedly consider returning to his home country to play for. The former Chelsea midfielder was born in Brazil but represents Italy at international level after moving there aged 15.

Gunners to receive windfall

Ex-Arsenal forward Mika Biereth is set to land the Gunners a healthy cash windfall when he completes his €13million (£10.8m) switch to Monaco. Biereth, who was born in London plays for Denmark at youth level, has completed a medical in the principality ahead of his move from Sturm Graz.

Arsenal will receive a percentage of the fee which the Austrian side receive, as they negotiated a sell-on clause when Biereth left the Emirates. The 21-year-old was picked been up from Fulham in 2021 but never made a senior appearances for the Gunners and departed last summer.
