Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof is playing football again after an injury interrupted start to the season.Better late than never, Victor Lindelof has finally got his 2024/25 season up and running. His return from a previous injury in December saw him suffer another problem in the Carabao Cup quarter-final.Lindelof recently made his first Premier League start of the season in the draw against Arsenal, after unfortunately missing a penalty in the FA Cup fifth round exit.The centre-back’s return has been impeccably timed, with injuries suffered to Leny Yoro, Lisandro Martinez, and Harry Maguire.Photo by Carl Recine/Getty ImagesSweden boss pleased with Lindelof return, wants him to focus on futureVictor Lindelof has linked up with the Sweden squad, having missed time during the previous international breaks.Sweden boss Jon Dahl Tomasson, a former Premier League striker, told Fotbol Skanalen that he is pleased to see Lindelof playing again,“He is our leader and captain. I was happy to see him get some minutes again this weekend. Even though they won. It has been a tough season for Manchester [United].”He emphasized that he is not just pleased on a selfish level, adding: “I’m happy for him. But all players need to play regularly. You have to have the opportunity to play and perform over time. He has been very unhappy in the past because he has been injured a lot.More United News“Hopefully he can put it behind him. We all know that Victor is an incredibly good player when he is healthy.”Tomasson wants Victor Lindelof to start planning his future carefully, with his Manchester United contract set to expire.He added: “We are keeping our fingers crossed that he stays healthy and gets a lot of playing time at Manchester United for the rest of the season, before he needs to find another club.”Victor Lindelof set to leaveVictor Lindelof will be allowed to leave Manchester United. He is one of four players set to be released this summer.He has been at United since 2017 and this has been one of Lindelof’s least productive seasons due to injuries.And while he is playing now, he won’t when everybody is healthy. Tomasson is right, he needs to start looking around for a new start, with Inter Milan already linked.The blueprint for a successful impact is already there, he could leave on a high after winning a trophy like Raphael Varane did last season, with Europa League silverware still a real possibility.
