It is top versus bottom in the Premier League as Wolves host Arsenal on Wednesday.

The league leaders take on the Black Country outfit looking to extend their lead at the summit to seven points.

They are four clear of second-placed Manchester City, but they dropped points last week in their draw at Brentford.

City claimed a last-gasp victory at Anfield over Liverpool before beating Fulham to close the gap on the Gunners.

Mikel Arteta’s side got back to winning ways in the FA Cup, swatting Wigan aside 4-0 as Bukayo Saka was trialled in a new position centrally.

Wolves, meanwhile, are as good as down, with Rob Edwards’ men on nine points from 26 games.

They are 16 points from safety, and nine points adrift at the foot of the table.

It remains to be seen whether Arteta will rotate his side for this game, especially with such a big north London derby on the horizon at the weekend.

Arsenal will take on Tottenham in Igor Tudor’s first game in charge since Thomas Frank’s sacking last week.

Date, kick-off time and venue

Wolves vs Arsenal is scheduled for an 8pm GMT kick-off on Wednesday, February 18 2026.

The match will take place at Molineux.

Wolves vs Arsenal team news

For Wolves, there are three on the treatment table.

South Korean forward Hwang Hee-Chan is one of them, with an ankle problem, and he won’t feature against Arsenal.

The same can be said of defender Toti Gomes, who is coming back from a hamstring injury.

Edwards hoped to have the Portuguese back in training by midweek this week, so this match will come too early for him.

However, they could be bolstered by the return of Andre, who Edwards seemed to think was “fine” after a minor calf problem.

As for Arsenal, they were dealt a blow when Riccardo Calafiori withdrew from the FA Cup clash against Wigan in the warm-up.

It remains to be seen what the Italian has suffered, and he is a doubt for this match.

Ben White is another who could miss this game, as he went down hurt 10 minutes from time against the Latics.

However, he seemed to quell any fears with an Instagram post later that day, with the caption “No injuries”.

Captain Martin Odegaard took a knock to his knee at Brentford and missed the FA Cup clash, and it remains to be seen whether he will feature, while Kai Havertz suffered a setback after his promising return from a knee injury.

The German sustained a muscle problem that will keep him for a few weeks, according to Arteta, while Mikel Merino might not play again this season after he had surgery on his foot.

Wolves vs Arsenal prediction

This can only go one way, especially if Arsenal have serious title ambitions.

They showed their free-scoring knack against Wigan in an easy victory at the weekend, but they struggled against a spirited Brentford last week.

How will Wolves fare? Will they show that same dogged determination that Brentford displayed?

If they don’t, it could be a tough evening for them.
