India will face England in the third ODI of the three-match series at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad at 1:30 pm IST on Wednesday. A big innings from ace batter Virat Kohli's silent bat along with a series clean-sweep over England will be on Team India's wish list when the two sides square off, marking the end of their Champions Trophy build-up.

While India hold an unassailable 2-0 lead with identical four-wicket victories over England in each of the first two ODIs, skipper Rohit Sharma's men will be extra motivated to get a victory in Ahmedabad where they lost the ODI World Cup final in 2023.

Needless to say, having their batting mainstay Kohli among runs and a victory would be the perfect culmination to the home team's Champions Trophy preparations.

The side has already got a shot in the arm by Rohit's return to form. His 90-ball 119 in the second ODI was a source of relief to both the team and him after a prolonged run of poor scores.

Kohli has not looked out of touch but has not stayed at the pitch for long enough to give himself an opportunity for a big innings either.

If he manages to click, Kohli is in with an opportunity to create another record. He is 89 runs short of becoming just the third batter in history to score 14,000 runs in the format which has been his favourite.

But for Jos Butter's England, this tour has raised more questions than they would have expected, and they would hope to find at least some answers before they begin their Champions Trophy campaign against arch-rivals Australia.
