Moore joins Bombers as AFLW List & Recruiting Manager

Josh Moore has been appointed as AFLW List & Recruiting Manager for at least the next two seasons.

Essendon FC is extremely pleased to announce the appointment of Josh Moore as the AFLW List & Recruiting Manager. The experienced Coach and Talent Scout will be a key asset to the Bombers AFLW senior leadership team, working closely with General Manager - AFLW, Aysha Ward and Senior Coach, Natalie Wood.

Having spent the past 6 seasons at the Dandenong Stingrays in the Coates Talent League, Moore brings in-depth knowledge of the talent pathway space with a unique gift in identifying emerging women’s football talent.

Since 2023, Moore has been the Head Coach of the Dandenong Stingrays Girls Program, having worked as a Senior Assistant Coach in both the boys’ and girls’ program for four years prior. He has supported over 30 players being drafted to the AFLW and built strong relationships with players, coaches, list managers and player manager around the State.

Alongside his role at the Dandenong Stingrays, Moore is currently the AFLW National Academy Assistant Coach and U18 Vic Country, State Academy, Girls Assistant Coach.

Moore’s impressive skillset spans across scouting, recruiting, and listing players within his region, followed by coaching and developing players to prepare for the demands of an AFLW program. Throughout his career he has successfully obtained credentials in AFL National Level 3 Coaching and his Professional Certificate in AFL Recruiting.

I completed my Professional Certificate in Recruiting 6 years ago and since then I’ve been working on my skillset alongside my coaching. I have loved analysing the female football talent over the last 6 years, setting up my own draft boards and watching players progress through the AFLW. To land this job at the Bombers is a dream come true.
