The Seattle Seahawks cruised to a Super Bowl LX victory with a 29-13 win over the New England Patriots in Santa Clara, California, on Sunday (8 February).

Quarterback Sam Darnold completed exactly half of his passes – 19 of 38 – for 202 yards and one touchdown with no interceptions.

Tight end AJ Barner was on the receiving end of that major, a 16-yard reception in the fourth quarter.

Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker III, who is headed for free agency in the off-season, was named the game's most valuable player after rushing for 135 yards on 27 carries.

But maybe the real MVP was Seahawks kicker Jason Myers, who set the all-time, single-game field goal record in Super Bowl history with his five three-pointers going through the uprights. Myers connected from 33, 39, 41, 41, and 26 yards, respectively.

Seattle’s vaunted defence, moreover, came away with a sack fumble for a touchdown as well as two interceptions. And while the Patriots registered 331 yards of total offence, they were stuck on 78 yards after three quarters of the game.

New England's second-year quarterback Drake Maye, meanwhile, had a rough outing. Heading into the fourth quarter, he was eight of 18 in passing for 61 yards, and ultimately finished the game 27 of 43 in passing for 295 yards for two touchdowns – but also two interceptions.
