Viktor Gyokeres interest 'cooled' by Arsenal but new £60m bid could add to Man United concerns

Manchester United appear to be falling further behind in the transfer battle for Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres.

When Ruben Amorim was appointed head coach at Manchester United, the dream scenario was that he would bring Viktor Gyokeres with him to Old Trafford.

Amorim promised to not sign Sporting players in January, and Gyokeres stayed loyal to the Portuguese club with a gentleman’s agreement that he could leave in the summer.

Now, United are calling Gyokeres ‘daily’ to get a deal over the line, but with limited finances and no European football to offer, Ineos are finding it difficult.

Arsenal cool Viktor Gyokeres interest but Juventus plan bid

Earlier this week, reports claimed Gyokeres prefers Arsenal over United as he targets a move to the Premier League.

Arsenal want Benjamin Sesko over Gyokeres which could re-open the door for United, but it seems Juventus have now firmly joined the race for the Swedish star.

As per Portuguese outlet A Bola, Juventus are willing to pay 70 million Euros for Gyokeres and are willing to meet his salary demands.

United have faced ‘obstacles’ with Gyokeres’ personal terms, but it seems Juventus are ready to offer what the 27-year-old wants to get a deal done.

The report claims Juventus are ready to offer Gyokeres a 13 million Euros salary (£11m), which equates to around £210,000 per week.

With Gyokeres willing to go on strike to get a move away from Sporting this summer, the Portuguese club could see a move to Juventus as a solution.

Viktor Gyokeres wants Premier League move this summer

Juventus now appear to be at the forefront of the Gyokeres race, but one thing that could save United’s chances is that he reportedly prefers a move to the Premier League.

TalkSPORT are reporting that Gyokeres is “determined” to force a move to the Premier League this summer, which would seemingly put Juventus at the back of his mind.

If Arsenal decide against signing Gyokeres and pursue another striker target such as Sesko, it could bring United back into the race.

But Amorim has already warned Gyokeres that he only wants to sign players who want to be at Old Trafford. If that isn’t the case and Gyokeres preferred to join Arsenal, Ineos could still look elsewhere.

United have seven Gyokeres alternatives who could be signed to bolster Amorim’s attack next season.
