He replaces Shammi Silva, President of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), who was in the job for just three months after replacing India’s Jay Shah — who is now the ICC chairman — in December 2024.Naqvi has been the PCB’s chairman since the first quarter of 2024. He has overseen one of the toughest phases in history for the country’s cricket, especially the men’s team.
