Sachin Tendulkar is a batting inspiration to a whole generation. Not just in India, but worldwide also there are cricketers who have named the cricket legend as their batting idol.But when his son Arjun Tendulkar was asked to name his batting idol, he didn’t take the name of his father. Arjun, who will be playing for the Lucknow Super Giants in this edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) surprised the host Shubhankar Mishra with his answer while talking on his podcast.Arjun picked Yuvraj Singh as his batting idol, saying he liked the double World Cup winner’s style of batting.On the podcast, Arjun said, "Yuvraj Singh," when asked who, aside from Sachin, was his idol. He acknowledged the fierce competition in Mumbai cricket circles and thought that playing for Goa would help him develop as a cricketer.Arjun played 5 IPL matches for the Mumbai Indians between 2021 and 2025 before he was traded to LSG in exchange for Shardul Thakur for the 2026 season.“You played a few matches for the Mumbai Indians and bowled well. Your swing was good, so did you feel you should have gotten more opportunities?" Mishra asked.Arjun replied, “Every player wants more opportunities. No one wants to sit on the bench. But all a player needs to do is work hard and seize the opportunity when it comes."
