Ekaterina Alexandrova vs Lilli Tagger prediction

It’s been a disappointing start to the season for Ekaterina Alexandrova, especially after a consistent 2025. She has lost seven of her 11 matches so far this year. Her only strong event was in Abu Dhabi as she reached the final, though she did lose to Sara Bejlek despite being the heavy favourite. She has gone on to lose her next three matches, falling to a straight sets defeat to Talia Gibson at Indian Wells.

She will face Lilli Tagger in Miami. The Austrian came from a set down to beat Ella Seidel in a tight match. Tagger squandered two set points in the first set tiebreak but responded well to win 6-7 (6) 6-4 7-5 after two hours and 48 minutes.

The first-round match may have taken a lot out of Tagger, but she is a rising talent and could trouble an out-of-form Alexandrova, who is low on confidence at the moment.
