Real Madrid beat Barcelona 2-0 in Off El Clasico legends match in Mumbai

Real Madrid defeated FC Barcelona 2-0 in a special 'Legends Faceoff' El Clasico match at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday.

In what was a nostalgic callback for Indian football fans, the two Spanish giants, featuring some of the legends of the game, rekindled the iconic rivalry at Navi Mumbai.

Fernando Morientes opened the scoring for Real Madrid in the 14th minute, finishing a well-worked move initiated by Luis Figo and Michael Owen.

The second half saw Barcelona legends press harder, pushing for an equaliser by launching waves after waves of attacks.

However, their efforts were undone in the 69th minute when David Barral doubled Madrid’s lead. The striker danced past Carles Puyol and Frank de Boer before calmly placing the ball past the goalkeeper, sealing the result.

The match ended 2-0 in the Los Blancos’ favour.
