Dolphins' Tyreek Hill Being Investigated by NFL After Domestic Violence Allegations

The NFL is investigating Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill over the allegations of domestic violence made by his estranged wife, per Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports.

"It's standard policy for the league to review a matter such as this," a league spokesman told Jones.

TMZ reported that Hill's estranged wife, Keeta Vaccaro, alleged eight separate incidents of domestic violence over their 17-month marriage in a new court filing in her divorce case against him.

Hill's attorney, Julius B. Collins, released a statement denying the allegations and claiming they are part of an attempt to "shake Mr. Hill down."

"These new allegations are further proof that Ms. Vacarro and/or her counsel are set on partaking in a smear campaign in hopes that Mr. Hill will settle and give she and her counsel an unreasonable and unwarranted amount of money," Collins said, per TMZ. "Mr. Hill will not be moved by this and awaits his day in Court to present his evidence."

Hill has not been criminally charged in the matter.

In 2014, he was dismissed from the Oklahoma State football and track & field teams following his arrest and guilty plea for domestic violence. This past April, police were called to Hill's home by Vaccaro's mother over an alleged domestic dispute, but no charges were filed. Vaccaro filed for divorce the next day.
