Cricket greats, Test stars and even an Olympic champion have given the Thunder some last-minute words of encouragement ahead of the BBL final.

In a video posted to social media, the likes of Shane Watson, Pat Cummins and Jessica Fox all wished the western Sydney team luck in a bid to capture their second title.

"Just want to congratulate you all for such an incredible achievement," Watson said.

"To be able to play the cricket you have done and make the final of this BBL. Wishing you all the very best and I will be wearing this on Monday night."

Fox took a break from training to wish her team luck.

"Hey Thunder boys, it's Jess Fox here - just wanted to wish you all the best for the final ... get out there and smash it, we'll be cheering," the gold medallist said.

Former player Michael Hussey heaped praise on the Thunder for a brilliant underdog story, which has seen them deal with injuries and setbacks throughout the season.

"The amount of adversity you have had to deal with to make it into the final has been incredible - you should be so proud of yourselves," he said.

"I want to wish you all the very best for the final, I'm really hoping you guys can win the trophy and you really deserve it.

"You're playing for a lot of great fans out there and I'm one of them."
