Why isn't Man Utd vs Crystal Palace on TV? How to watch Premier League match

Manchester United host to Crystal Palace on Sunday – but fans won't be able to watch the action from home.

Ruben Amorim has been handed an incredibly tough task of turning the tide at Old Trafford, stepping up to replace Erik ten Hag when he was dismissed by the club in October following a shaky start to the 2024/25 season. And while the Red Devils have started to see more success in the new year - with wins over Southampton and Fulham, and a 2-2 stalemate with league leaders Liverpool, they still have a long way to go in terms of achieving glory.

With just eight victories, five draws and 10 losses to their name for the season so far, United will hope to build momentum against Palace. The Eagles are having somewhat of a similar season to United under Oliver Glasner - who replaced Roy Hodgson last February.

While Palace were able to achieve a 10th place finish in the 2023/24 campaign, their chances of improving on that this season are questionable to say the least. The south London outfit have won six, draw nine and lost eight of their matches up to this point.

As United and Palace prepare for another rollercoaster clash, fans across the UK might be looking forward to watching the match on TV. However, they will be left sorely disappointed, as Mirror Football explains...

Why isn't Man Utd vs Crystal Palace on TV?

United vs Palace was initially slated for a Saturday kick-off, but it was changed to 2pm today due to a Europa League clash with FCSB in Romania on Thursday. The change gave United's players extra time to rest ahead of their return to the Premier League action.

As the game wasn't originally planned for television broadcast, it will not be shown on TV on Sunday. That's because the two TV time slots are already filled. Brentford vs Spurs - which will be shown on Sky Sports Premier League - kicks off at 2pm, while Arsenal's later clash with Manchester City at 4.30pm will also be aired. However, this arrangement will change as of the 2025/26 campaign, when all games not set for a 3pm kick-off on a Saturday will be aired live in the UK under a new deal.

Where to watch Man Utd vs Crystal Palace?

The only place that UK-based fans will be able to catch the action live and direct is at Old Trafford, but those abroad will be able to watch along via their respective Premier League providers. For example, US fans will find that NBCUniversal hold the rights to all 380 Premier League games this season.

UK fans will have to wait until Sky Sports uploads video highlights of the match, usually around 20 minutes after the final whistle is blown. These are usually shared on the broadcaster's official website as well as its YouTube channel. Alternatively, football fans can tune in to Match of the Day 2, which airs at 10.30pm on BBC One and on BBC iPlayer this evening.
