Join now and get your first month for just $1.It’s New England’s first Super Bowl appearance since the Tom Brady era and the Patriots can tie the Pittsburgh Steelers for the most Super Bowl wins in history with a seventh triumph.The Seahawks won the 2014 Super Bowl and Seattle are the heavy favourites to claim a second Vince Lombardi Trophy.Going to the Super Bowl is a once in a lifetime experience for most sports fans, and it’s an expensive exercise, as one Aussie punter explained to NBC’s Matt Sottile.The man, showing his allegiance to the Patriots by wearing quarterback Drake Maye’s No. 1 jersey, explained it cost a fortune to buy tickets for his family of five and fly them from Melbourne over to California.“Tickets cost a fortune, right,” he said in the clip you can watch above.“So coming from Australia, I reckon I spent 150 thousand dollars.“There’s five of us. Tickets were eighty grand, eighty thousand Australian.”Asked if he was sitting in the nosebleeds or close to the field, he said: “We’re on level one, so it’s expensive.”As for the flights, he said: “That was 65 thousand. That’s business class but yeah.“It’s priceless. We’re here for the win and it’s going to be a lifetime memory for the kids. It’s going to be great.“First Super Bowl, so hopefully we win!”Hopefully for his sake, the Patriots can win their first Super Bowl following the departure of Brady and legendary coach Bill Belichick.Levi’s Stadium has a capcity of 68,500 that can be expanded to 75,000 for major events like the Super Bowl.According to Ticketmaster, in recent years Super Bowl tickets have averaged between $4000 USD to $6000 USD.Australian NFL diehards won’t have to travel far to get a taste of action in the 2026-27 season, with a blockbuster clash between NFC West rivals LA Rams and San Francsico 49ers to take place at the MCG.The date and time of the clash will be released later in the year, with the NFL announcing a record nine international matches across four continents, seven countries and eight stadiums.READ MORE: Everything you need to know about the Super BowlThere is history on the line for Australia in this year’s Super Bowl — Seahawks punter Michael Dickson is aiming to become the Aussie to play in a Super Bowl win.Last year, Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle Jordan Mailata became the first Australian to play in a Super Bowl victory after Aussie Jesse Williams was part of Seattle’s successful 2014 squad but didn’t play in the game.Dickson, 30, was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in 2018, making this his eighth season in the NFL.He was a promising AFL player, and attended the Sydney Swans academy before he left Australia to play college football in the US.Last year, he signed a contract extension with the Seahawks worth $US16m ($A23m), securing a spot for another four years.
