Watch Conor McGregor choose violence in soccer match

Conor McGregor hasn’t fought in years, but that doesn’t mean he’s not finding ways to show off his cagefighting skills.

At a recreational soccer match Saturday in Dublin, Ireland, the UFC star mixed the martial arts into his footy game as he mixed it up with his fellow players. Clips of McGregor’s antics soon went viral and you can watch them below.

In the first clip, McGregor can be seen getting physical with a couple of members of the opposing team as he chases after a loose ball. In the second clip, McGregor smashes a kick to a player’s body as he attempts to play the ball out of the air.

McGregor was playing for Black Forge FC, a team named after the Black Forge Inn pub that he owns in Dublin. The United Churches Football League match ended in a 1-1 draw, according to The Mirror.

The clips and images from the match were shared in McGregor’s Instagram Stories, and he also tweeted about the event.

McGregor, a former two-division UFC champion, has not fought since breaking his leg in a loss to longtime rival Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021. A comeback fight against Michael Chandler that was to take place at UFC 303 this past June was canceled when McGregor withdrew due to a toe injury.

Further complicating McGregor’s return are his issues outside of the cage. The 36-year-old was recently found liable for sexual assault in a civil suit stemming from an incident at a Dublin hotel in 2018.
