Black Sherif blends music, fashion and football ahead of World Cup

Ghanaian global music sensation Black Sherif has shared fresh insights into his music, fashion, and football excitement following the recent unveiling of Ghana’s new jersey in collaboration with Puma.

In an interview with OkayAfrica after the launch, the “Kwaku the Traveler” hitmaker revealed that his track 'Top of the Morning' has quickly become his favourite performance song.

According to him, the track consistently receives some of the strongest reactions from fans, making it a standout moment in his sets.

“It’s been crazy since the release of the album. Top of the Morning was a slow burner, but the performances started going crazy. I finished the European and UK tour and went back home. The performance was a success. I feel like it’s my favourite song to perform on the album, and my fans love it just as much. Every show we perform, we run it back like four times,” Blacko disclosed.

Speaking further on football, Black Sherif expressed his excitement about the upcoming FIFA World Cup season, noting that he is eager for the action to begin.

“I can’t wait. I only missed one qualifying game. This mindset that we are coming to the World Cup with—we are not underestimating anybody. Everybody is in a big competition. We dey attack them full aggressive,” he said.

Beyond music and football, the artiste also offered a styling tip for fans looking to rock the newly released Ghana jerseys.

Highlighting the yellow jersey in particular, he said, “Gold accessories would make the jersey a great outfit. Some gold belt buckle, some gold jewelry, especially with the yellow jersey.”

His fashion advice has gained attention on social media, with fans praising his evolving style, as Black Sherif is best known for his heavy silver accessories.

Concluding, he teased his upcoming 2026 project, announcing a new body of work titled Popstar. He explained that the project tells the story of who he was before fame and popularity.

Black Sherif’s appearance at the unveiling event further cements his growing influence not just in music, but also in fashion and youth culture, as Ghana warms up for another exciting chapter on the global football stage.
