Alejandro Garnacho shares what he is 'training really hard' to improve at Man Utd along with his £64m teammate

Ever since Ruben Amorim dropped Alejandro Garnacho in December, the Argentine has been drastically improving in his performances.

The Manchester derby in December is a turning point in recent Manchester United history.

It was here that Ruben Amorim dropped Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho from the squad for their effort levels. This then led to United finding a new star as Amad Diallo announcing himself by scoring the winner.

From this point, Rashford went one way as he pushed for an exit from United which he found with a loan to Aston Villa, while Garnacho knuckled down to impress Amorim and become a regular fixture of the team.

Despite his weaknesses at times in decision making, Garnacho has often been United’s most dangerous player recently and currently has 11 goals and 10 assists in all competitions this season which is not a bad tally.

With the 20-year-old improving, with his most recent performance seeing a brilliant goal against Brentford along with an assist, now he has been discussing what he is doing in training.

Alejandro Garnacho admits he is training hard to improve his finishing at Manchester United

Garnacho’s growing importance to United has been impressive, considering he has gone from being expendable to now chosen by the club to be at the press conference for the semi-final second leg.

Now, during this press conference, Garnacho has been asked about his record which sees him one contribution from matching Cristiano Ronaldo’s record for the club aged 21.

“I’m not focussed on the numbers, when Cristiano played it was a different football and different type of game. I just try to help the team and try to win games.

“Obviously, missing chances and things like this, we are training really hard, me and Rasmus [Hojlund], all the strikers in the team so I think we are improving and we will try to do better.

Continuing, Garnacho revealed that he and his £64m teammate, Hojlund, are constantly talking to improve.

“I speak with him a lot, we try to help each other but sometimes from this side it is difficult but we train hard, to score more chances and the team will improve if we score more goals.”

Garnacho is saying all the right things about this situation, knowing he must improve in front of goal because when he does, it would send him on a world class trajectory, which would make selling him this summer the wrong call.

Alejandro Garnacho must not be sold this summer by Manchester United

In January, there was a lot of talk around Garnacho’s future with interest from Chelsea arriving along with Napoli. This trend was expected to continue in the summer with the same clubs lining up, along with Atletico Madrid also being keen on Garnacho, but Ineos must reject this interest.

Selling Garnacho on the cheap would be an error by United, one which would surely be regretted in the coming years when he inevitably solves his one problem.

Despite being capable of scoring, Garnacho is unpredictable and inconsistent in front of goal as he has frustrated fans regularly over the past few seasons by scuppering one-on-one opportunities.

But with the work he is putting in to improve his finishing, it is only a matter of time until Garnacho sees improvements in his finishing which could elevate his game to the next level.

So he should not be sold to help with PSR, when it will almost certainly end up looking like an awful decision with the Argentine just waiting to level up.
