Manchester United scouts are watching two of the hottest French wonderkids in world football right now, and they are both Leny Yoro’s teammates at the international level.

There has been a lot of talent added to the ranks of Manchester United over the past couple of years since Ineos redesigned the recruitment strategy at the club.

After taking control of the club’s football operations, Sir Jim Ratcliffe set out to find the next Kylian Mbappe – figuratively – and this strategy resulted in the arrival of Leny Yoro from Lille.

Now, two more supremely talented French wonderkids are on the radar.

Manchester United scouts watching Jeremy Jacquet and Mohamed Kader Meite

This week, Yoro is with the French U21 team, and he started in a 1-1 draw with Switzerland on Friday.

However, it won’t just be Yoro that United scouts will have had an eye on, with Jeremy Jacquet and Mohamed Kader Meite emerging as targets for the Red Devils.

This is according to French journalist Francois Rauzy, who reported on X that the club were watching the pair of Rennes talents.

United had a scout at Rennes against Paris FC to watch Jacquet and Meite in action, which is a signal of intent from Ineos.

However, as the journalist pointed out, the duo are picking up plenty of attention from Europe’s elite, and soon it will be shorter to name the clubs not watching them.

Due to this, United should be considering January as an opportunity to steal a march on other clubs – moving early just as they did with Yoro.

Manchester United should be looking to sign Jacquet in particular

Both are huge talents and Meite as a replacement for Joshua Zirkzee would be a big upgrade in terms of suiting Amorim’s team.

However, Jacquet should be a must for the Red Devils to future-proof the back three.

Who is your dream Manchester United signing in 2026?

Jacquet would be perfect alongside Yoro on the left of a back three, then Matthijs de Ligt can be the rock in the middle.

Jacquet is 20; however, he is absolutely ready to take that next step in his career, and versatile, strong, and quick defenders from France are usually a good bet.

Meite would be an equally good signing, having all the tools to be an elite striker in his career.

These are two deals that should be considered sooner rather than later.
