CAF CL and CAF CC: Pots confirmed, draw live on SuperSport at 1pm

The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has confirmed the official procedures for the quarterfinal and semifinal draws of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League 2025/26 and the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup 2025/26.

The draw will take place on Tuesday and will be broadcast live on SuperSport at 1pm CAT.

Champions League: Multi-Pot System to Determine quarterfinals

CAF will use a multi-pot format to determine the four quarterfinal matchups in the Champions League.

Pot 1 will include the runners-up from the group stage:

RS Berkane (Morocco)

AS FAR (Morocco)

Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa)

Espérance Sportive de Tunis (Tunisia)

Each group winner has been allocated its own pot:

Group A: Pyramids FC (Egypt)

Group B: Al Ahly FC (Egypt)

Group C: Al Hilal SC (Sudan)

Group D: Stade Malien (Mali)

The draw begins with CAF selecting a team from Pot 1. For that team, CAF then draws from the three group-winner pots excluding the pot corresponding to the runner-up’s original group, ensuring that clubs who met in the group stage cannot face each other in the quarterfinals.

Those three potential opponents are placed into an additional pot (Pot 6), mixed, and one is drawn to complete the pairing. The process is repeated for all four fixtures. All runners-up will host the first leg.

semifinal Pathway

CAF will place the four quarterfinal winners into a single pot labelled QF1–QF4.

The first two balls drawn will face one another in the first semifinal, with the first team drawn hosting the first leg.

The final two balls drawn will form semifinal 2 under the same principle.

Confederation Cup: Identical Format

The TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup draw will follow the same structure.

Pot 1 – Group Runners-up:

Olympique Club de Safi (Morocco)

AS Maniema Union (DR Congo)

AS Otoho (Congo)

Al Masry SC (Egypt)

Each group winner is placed in its own pot:

Pot 2 (Group A winner): USM Alger (Algeria)

Pot 3 (Group B winner): Wydad AC (Morocco)

Pot 4 (Group C winner): CR Belouizdad (Algeria)

Pot 5 (Group D winner): Zamalek SC (Egypt)
