The summer transfer window is well and truly underway but Arsenal are yet to confirm any new signings, despite being linked with several targets.

Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi appears to be the closest to arriving in north London, though Mikel Arteta is also keen to strengthen his forward line ahead of the new season. The lack of depth in attack proved costly for the Gunners last term and it seems Arsenal are determined not to let the same shortcomings derail their campaign again.

Several forwards have been linked in recent weeks but. as it stands, it remains unclear who new sporting director Andrea Berta will prioritise. The transfer window is open until June 10, before a brief six-day closure, after which it reopens on June 16 and runs until September 1.

Here is the latest transfer news around Arsenal...

Arsenal consider raiding London rival

Arsenal are reportedly 'considering' a move for Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga. According to Sky Sports journalist Luca Bendoni, the Gunners are weighing up triggering the Spaniard’s £5 million release clause.

Kepa spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Bournemouth, where he enjoyed a strong campaign. Journalist Fabrizio Romano has also confirmed Arsenal’s interest, reporting that the club is monitoring Kepa’s situation and has asked to be kept informed of any developments.

Now 30, Kepa joined Chelsea in the summer of 2018 for a world-record fee for a goalkeeper. He made over 160 appearances for the west London club but has spent recent seasons out on loan, including spells at Real Madrid and Bournemouth, after falling out of favour at Stamford Bridge.

Football.london says: Kepa would be a strong option for any club following his impressive stint at the Vitality Stadium. However, it remains to be seen whether he would accept a backup role at Arsenal, particularly if other offers come in. At just £5m, though, he could prove a bargain addition.

Left winger shortlist emerges

Arsenal’s shortlist for a left winger has reportedly taken shape, with Sky Sports naming four players currently under consideration. Real Madrid’s Rodrygo headlines the list amid uncertainty over his long-term future in Spain, though it's unclear whether the Brazilian will push for a move.

Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams, Bayern Munich’s Leroy Sane, and Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers are listed as alternative options.

The report adds that Arsenal are seeking proven quality on the flanks, with Sane expected to leave Bayern on a free while Williams has a release clause that could be activated.

Rogers represents a more versatile option and could become available depending on Villa’s PSR (Profit and Sustainability Rules) situation. However, given his tendency to play centrally as an attacking midfielder, it’s unclear how he would be deployed at Arsenal.

Football.london says: There’s no shortage of promising options for Arsenal on the left wing, but none of the deals will be straightforward, except potentially Sane should he become a free agent. The Gunners may also need to consider offloading either Gabriel Martinelli or Leandro Trossard to create space in that position.
