Kolkata football giants East Bengal FC will start their campaign in the AFC Women’s Champions League 2025 from Monday with a match against the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Bam Khatoon FC in Group B.The East Bengal women’s football team’s matches in AWCL 2025-26 will be available to watch on live streaming in India.The opener against Bam Khatoon, record 11-time domestic champions of Iran and quarter-finalists from the last season, will hardly be the Moshal Girls’ toughest test in the group, which also features the People’s Republic of China’s Wuhan Jiangda WFC.Wuhan Jiangda WFC are five-time Chinese Women's Super League winners and the reigning continental champions, having won the inaugural AFC Women's Champions League edition held last season.PFC Nasaf - record 16-time champions of the Uzbekistan Women's League - are the fourth team in Group B, but like East Bengal, they will also be making their debut on the continental stage.Despite the tough draw, East Bengal, coached by Anthony Andrews, will hope to string together a good run after defying expectations in the preliminary stage to qualify for the group phase of Asia’s premier club football competition for women.East Bengal, the 2024-25 Indian Women’s League (IWL) champions, reached the main draw after topping Group E in the preliminary stage ahead of Hong Kong China’s Kitchee SC and Cambodian side Phnom Penh Crown FC.In the group phase, 12 teams have been split into three groups of four. Each group will be played at a centralised venue and all Group B matches will be played at the Hankou Cultural Sports Centre from November 17 to 23, with Wuhan Jiangda playing hosts.After the single round robin group stage, eight clubs - the top two from each group and the two best third-placed sides overall - will move to the knockout stage.The single-leg quarter-finals are scheduled for March next year, followed by the semi-finals and final from May 20 to 23.
